Trainer Profile Gas Turbine Operation & Maintenance
Code: Technical
Duration: 5 Days
Location: Doha
Fee: QAR 12,900
Course Overview
This course introduces the gas turbine engine, including operation and maintenance. It looks at how the technology works and the factors that affect performance, Gas turbines became widely adopted and many thousands of sets are now installed worldwide. The advantages of a gas turbine plant as compared to a steam plant of comparable horsepower include: Weight reduction of 70%, Simplicity (fewer propulsion auxiliaries), reduced manning due to automated propulsion plant control, quicker response time and faster acceleration/deceleration.Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the trainees will be aware and understanding of the following:
- Describe the relationship of the various turbine components and how they may be at risk during operations.
- Describe the different fuel systems used in gas turbine operations.
- Describe Gas Turbine Auxiliary Systems such as (Cooling & Sealing Air, Lube Oil Systems, Fuel Forwarding, Control and Hydraulic Oil) and purpose, normal operations, and abnormal conditions for each.
- Given a gas turbine control system block diagram, sequence the turbine through a Startup, Load Changes, Shutdown, and Emergency Conditions.
- Describe the major components associated with a Generator.
- Describe emergency condition response for both the gas turbine and generator
