Course Overview:

Mechanical seals can be wet seals using oil for cooling and lubrication to the mating surfaces, or dry gas seals using inert gas and bearing effect to separate between the mating surfaces of the seal during operation.

Dry gas seals are considered as an advanced development of the MS’s, however the design and operation are more stringent. Which one should be selected and specified to the equipment should be done carefully and scientifically.

This mechanical seals and seal support systems, including both wet seal and dry gas seal technology, the course gives a comprehensive account of, mechanical seals and dry seals design, selection, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance, the problems associated with pump and compressor seal operation are covered and methods of prevention

  • Understand the criticality of mechanical seals in equipment, as the most common cause of failures
  • Manage the types of mechanical seals including wet seals and dry gas seals to enable the best selection for the equipment
